FAQs
-
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. The New Hope PTO is a group of parents, teachers, and staff who have come together to enhance the student experience through volunteering, fundraising, and community engagement.
-
PTO supports the school in 3 main ways: volunteering, fundraising, and engaging our community.
We organize parent volunteers to help in the book fair, at events, or in the form of room parents.
We host several fundraisers and sell merchandise to raise money for new school materials, play ground equipment, teacher resources, and more.
We bring our community together by hosting inexpensive, open events for our nighthawk families to attend as an opportunity to meet friends and neighbors in our school community. -
PTO works diligently to support New Hope Elementary scool, but we are a separate group when it comes to leadership, budget, and bylaws. We are an independent 501C-3 nonprofit organization, however our sole purpose is to support New Hope Elementary School. We are a team, working closely together for a common goal.

PTO raises money in a number of ways:
We host several dedicated fundraisers during the year such as the read-a-thon, holiday shop, and spirit nights
We sell merchandise such as yearbooks, t shirts, sweatshirts, and PTO memberships
We make a small profit on concessions and event ticket sales where appropriate
We receive donations from individuals in and around our community
We receive donations from our local Kroger stores’ community partnership when our families shop with Kroger.
